School Nurse

The School nurses serve as the health care experts in the School to meet student health needs.  They are responsible for providing a safe and healthy school environment, monitoring Ministry of Health immunizations, managing communicable diseases, assessing the School environment for safety to prevent injury and spearheading infection control measures. They are also responsible for medication administration, training staff on health care procedures, and conducting health screenings that include vision, hearing, height and weight measurements. In addition, the nurses plan the monthly menus for breakfast and lunch in coordination with the cafeteria staff.
